    Goldendoodles are a mix between a golden retriever and a poodle. So they are the best of both worlds! They have the intelligence and non- low shedding coat of poodles and the happy-go-lucky, family oriented personality of a golden retriever. Only pure breed dogs (ie Golden Retriever or Poodle) can be registered with AKC. 

    Because Goldendoodles are a mixed breed,  it can never be guaranteed that they don't shed or cause allergies.  It is true that that some do not,  but it really depends on the dog.
